I’m blind. I’m blind

Oh my golly gosh goodness yes. I was blind. Now I can see. What a hell of a day.

New eyes test part 2. Last week was reading the card and surrendering the current frames. This week was the “Is diabetes making me blind” check with photo shoot.

I don’t know what’s worse. Dentists injections or Optometrist eye drops. Thank goodness I walked to the village. Purely on a whim. I was so close to being lazy and driving the 5 blocks. I would have had to leave the car behind.

The eye drops stung the eyes and made me blind. I had to wait 15 minutes for the liquid to do it’s job. I had blinding lights shone in my eyes, then I followed the green dot while photos were taken of the back of the pupils.

I felt my way along the shop fronts to the cafe and had breakfast of ham/cheese/tomato toasty with a long black. Ran out of coffee last night so bought a bag of beans and walked back to the cave. Eyes still watering.

Sat at the workstation and could see barely well enough to complete an urgent task on the web site. By 12:30 my eyes had stopped working. Guess what I did.

Yep. That’s right. Lay on the couch. Woke up 3 hrs later. But I can see again.

oh, by the way, my eyes are still good. no growth in bad stuff over the last year. whoohoo.

I totally get it. Those drops are like having suntan lotion and sand in your eyes together!!!!

Diabetic secret – wear sunglasses before hand and sit in a dark part of the waiting area….your pupils will grow like magic beans and then you do not need the drops….i have managed to evade them for 15 years now doing that strategy!! Plus a little argument with the more “jobsworth” optometrists…..
